The cultural products of the project

The project proposes the adoption of modern methods of national heritage enhancement, through the use of interactive virtual media, with a strong impact on Internet users, using 20 historical monuments throughout. The selection of historical monuments will be the result of broad consultation with experts in the field of cultural heritage. Experts from the National Heritage Institute and the Departments of Culture will be interviewed. They will be asked to prepare lists of representative monuments, which will be advocated. Documentations and records will be prepared for each monument. Information on historical monuments pertaining to the cultural and historical context, in which they were built, their role and functions over time, will be accompanied by information on accessibility in the region, useful for tourism promotion activities.
This information will be included in site dedicated representative historical monuments, as well as documentary which will be done in the project.

The making of virtual tours for each historical monument
A virtual tour is a full view (360 degrees) of a space that a user can interact with. Through a virtual tour, users feel as if they are present in that space, controlling his movement within the area, zooming in and out, allowing it to focus on its areas of interest. A virtual tour can have some additional features such as: the interface.
An interface will be created, through which all virtual tours can be viewed. This will be included in the site. Virtual tours will be linked to a floor plan so that users can choose how and where to move and the view they’ll see, in the desired space.
From a technical standpoint, virtual tour 360 ° is obtained by interconnecting multiple virtual panoramas in an interactive way, giving the user access to information about the location he’s viewing in an interactive way. The virtual panorama is an image obtained by combining multiple photos, allowing users to see the surroundings in 360 degrees, horizontally, and 180 degrees, vertically.
     Making the video illustration
The documentaries will include pictures of monuments, to be included in the project website.
     Making the website
The website will be the product of consultations between the project team members, which will determine the site structure, type and amount of information included, layout, the style of the website, etc. The website will include, besides information about each monument in Romanian and English, a virtual tour and video illustration for each monument. Information about accessibility and the location, which is vital for interested tourists, will be made available as well.
Photos and the map for the location of the monument will be included in the website. From a technical standpoint, we will provide a friendly interface of the site, which will contain material optimized so that it will load with ease and quickly. The website will follow visual identity rules, providing data on the funding body of the program and a about the authority that manages the program, namely the National Cultural Fund Administration. The site will provide information about the National Institute of Heritage, as well.
     Website Launch
The website will be launched at an event where the applicant, all cultural professionals who contributed to the project and curators of the museums included on the website will be invited to participate. During the event CDs with information about monuments, virtual tours and documentary films will be distributed.
     Cultural project results
The project will amount to an interactive website containing: 20 video illustrations, 20 virtual tours, each containing several 360 degrees panoramas, and 20 panoramas of 360 degrees posted on Google Earth website.
Also 1000 CDs with a menu that will lead to the introduction section with information about the project and about the funding body and partners will be distributed.
A link to the Local Authorities on whose territory the projects’ historical monuments are found will be made available. It’s estimated that the project team members will receive requests from business people working in the tourism sector, related to posting links to this website on their own businesses’ websites, as promoting national heritage has the effect of directly increasing the attractiveness of the entire region for tourists.
